SFS succession plans in the Board of Directors and Group Executive Board enable continuity

Media release – January 6, 2023

At the Annual General Meeting on April 26, 2023, the SFS Board of Directors will propose that Fabian Tschan be elected to the Board of Directors as a representative of the Stadler/Tschan shareholder family. He succeeds Bettina Stadler, who will not stand for re-election as part of a long-term succession plan. The Board of Directors also has appointed Thomas Jung as future Head of the Construction division; he will succeed Arthur Blank, who will be stepping down from the Group Executive Board at the end of 2023. Thomas Jung’s many years in the Construction division of SFS make him the ideal candidate for this position.

Commitment of the founding families will be continued
As part of the long-term succession plan set up by the Stadler/Tschan family shareholders, Bettina Stadler has notified the Board of Directors of SFS Group AG that she will not stand for re-election to the Board of Directors at the 2023 Annual General Meeting. The Board of Directors would like to thank Bettina Stadler for her many years of service on the Board of Directors and as a member of the Audit Committee.

The Board of Directors will propose at the Annual General Meeting on April 26, 2023, that Fabian Tschan (born 1977) be appointed as a member of the Board of Directors. He will ensure continuity in his capacity as a representative of the Stadler/Tschan family shareholders.

Succession solution in the Construction division creates continuity
Arthur Blank has worked for SFS since 1983 and spent eight years as Head of the Construction division. He will step down from this position at the end of 2023, but continue to support SFS in selected projects until he retires at the end of 2024. During his career – spanning some 40 years – Arthur Blank helped to set up the Construction division and contributed significantly to its successful positioning. The Board of Directors and the Group Executive Board would like to thank Arthur Blank for his many years of service and the enormous contribution he has made.

In the interests of early succession planning and a smooth transition, the Board of Directors appointed Thomas Jung as Arthur Blank’s successor. Thomas Jung began his career with SFS in 2010 as general manager for Central and Eastern Europe at the company’s site in Oberursel, Germany. In the last three years, he has been responsible for the Construction division’s business activities in North America, based in the United States. His extensive knowledge and experience make him the ideal candidate to head the division. With his appointment as Head of the Construction division, Thomas Jung will join the Group Executive Board as of January 1, 2024.
