From training to management level growing together

We believe that social sustainability means not only giving back to society, but also taking responsibility and promoting equal opportunities – for example through social training projects or by providing targeted support to our employees. Our focus is on their long-term development: from the first day of training to the international management level. Two examples illustrate this commitment.

Added value

  • Learning to take responsibility early on
  • Strengthening community through social commitment
  • Sustainably promoting leaders
  • Lifelong learning and networking

Our trainees’ social commitment
At SFS, our trainees take responsibility from the outset – not only for their own development, but also for society. By participating in social projects, they gain valuable experience and learn what community and team spirit mean.

Whether at sporting events for children, such as the Bundesjugendspiele (Federal Youth Games), or by supporting local initiatives, our trainees are fully committed with their heads, hearts and hands. One impressive example is the ORANGE Sports Challenge. As an international charity project, it was actively shaped by trainees – from platform programming and project management to internal communication. A donation was made to the Hoffmann Group Foundation based on the total number of minutes spent engaged in sports.

Creative projects were also on the agenda last year. During craft activities at our ORANGE HOUSES and in our ORANGE PROJECTS, trainees worked with children to make decorations, cards, and cookies. The lovingly crafted items were sold at markets, with the proceeds going to social projects. But even more important was the interaction itself: genuine closeness, mutual understanding, and lasting memories.

“The opportunity to participate in projects that actually make a difference is hugely rewarding. It’s particularly motivating to feel that your contribution is both needed and appreciated.”

Shaping sustainable leadership
While the next generation of SFS Group employees take on their first responsibilities in social projects, the Advanced Leadership Development Program (ALDP) prepares future leaders for the complex challenges of a global organization.

Participants acquire in-depth skills in strategy, management, and leadership. They learn to professionally manage diversity and complexity, reflect on cultural identity, shape sustainable change and succession processes, and incorporate ESG issues into their management work.

The ALDP was systematically expanded in 2025 with the new “Meet & Connect” component. This virtual format will be implemented in 2026 and enables graduates to continue to engage in regular exchanges and ongoing discussions about the challenges of being a manager even after completing their training, thus ensuring a continuous learning process.

Sara Degen Specialist of Global Training & Learning
“By launching this program, we are aiming for more than a one-time experience – we want to create an international leadership network that enables our employees to learn from each other, network across borders, and shape the future together.”

Our approach: Lifelong learning
Whether in training or in the global leadership program, we see sustainable employee development as a common thread that connects all career stages. Our employees grow through commitment, responsibility, and lifelong learning – and that is precisely what makes SFS strong for the future.
