Inventing success together
Achieving a faster, more flexible response to market and customer needs requires short, reliable component replenishment times. The two companies therefore collaborated on the development of a new concept which resulted in massive reductions in delivery times. Among other things, the end-customer usage rates of Sandvik Machining Solutions AB were mapped. The integration of value-stream analysis ensures the availability of the correct component in the correct quantity at the correct time. Thus the exact quantity of fasteners required by the customer is produced. This simultaneously achieves a marked reduction in stock levels and an improved production loading. As an order is placed, the parts required are already ready for despatch; or at the very least nearing the end of manufacture and ready to go shortly.
